A certified document is a copy of an original document that has been sighted and certified by an appropriate officer declaring it to be a true copy of an original.

Certifying officers include:

Justices of the Peace (JP)
Commissioners for Affidavits
Solicitors and/or Lawyers
Notary Public Officials
Prominent Citizens

All certifying officers' contact names and details must be clearly stated on any certified documents.
