10th of June 2005 - I noticed that I have filled my Name on DSP 122 form incorrectly , so I contacted KCC by email KCCDV@state.gov

After about 3 day’s time I received a reply from them

mc,

Not sure if you've postponed marriage permanently. However, wanted to tell you that if you go through with the interview before getting married, you basically can't get your spouse over for many years. It's really important that if you want your spouse over at all, you get married before the visa interview.

Hi praneeth22,

The reason that I postponed it is because all this happened really fast and I haven’t had a girl friend too.. So I just thought to postponed it, as you mentioned that if I married after the interview to get a visa for spouse waiting time will be about 5 to 7 years.

My Medicals and everything is ready now except the police clearances when I called the US embassy here in Sri Lanka regarding the police clearances they told me that I don’t have to do it and they said that they are going to do it after my interview.

When is your Interview ?

When is your Interview ?

My number isn't very good I'm afraid.. 71xx .. it will be late June or July when that comes up... I'm trying to get the police clearance done in advance.. i haven't even received the second packet yet... Did you go over to the embassy to contact them? Since I'm here in the US (on H1) I haven't figured out a way of talking to the embassy.

noop , I just gave them a call and asked about it , they just said I don’t have to do it and they are going to do it after the interview.

But since you are in US your case can be different than mine better if you can call the embassy and find out.

hello people, I like to update my story today , I know its little late but forgive me for that ,

I went to the interview and its was a just a easy one, The interview place was a small room with a counter and a American lady just asked me few questions like where is your birth place, year of the OL's, what are the class you got and few questions about the sponsor how do you know him , what are you going to do there etc.. so after that she looked at my documents again and told me there is no problem and told me the sign the paper after that told me come back again in 5 days to collect the visa and she took the finger prints and all my original documents along with my pass.

so I went on the day that she told me to come and she gave me the passport with the Visa stamp on it and a brown packet to hand over to immigration office in USA and my original documents. so that was it ,, after about 20 days later I did my POE in New York and gave the the brown letter to the officer. so that is it and I am currently in Houston Texas , its summer here so its nice , after about 3 weeks I received my green card too... But I miss Sri Lanka very much

so if you guys gals have any problems or want to know anything from me just post here...

Thank you.
