Default AOS Approval Los Angeles

In any case - My time line was as follows:

Received NL - Appx May/4/05 AS 50XX

Sent in the check for the DV fee - $375 Got a reply...and sent in the INFAMOUS DS 230 and all that...chose AOS.

Okay...now we leap forward to October/19/2005 in CONTRAST to common belief - I have decided to take the "Hell Merry" approach (am I spelling it right...) and send my Package Early (BEFORE MY NUMBER WAS CURRENT)...
I have calculated approximate progress of the DV numbers...together with approximate processing time for the Los angeles office(6 months on average)...

Okay - now - what bothered me in this point (and later bothered many of you) is that I have graduated and got my OPT in September (Valid from December/2005 to december/2006)

Any way - we continue: RECEIVED NOA - Oct/ 19 / 2005 Received FP notice on Nov/9/2005 for Dec/13/05

Went to info pass on March/8/06 and was told that my case was already in the LA office since NOVEMBER...At the same day - also got my interview letter for April/3/06

INTERVIEW: As expected - I was stressed as a TAMPON on a very damp day ! (Pardon from all females on this board) There were a few officers that looked like potential NAZIS and that did not help my general feeling.
I got LUCKY - a young sweet smily lady.

Raise your right hand..swear..."DID u ever" questions...
I told her that I got 2 traffic citations...but never arrested..(I assume that put her at ease a little)

From here on every thing went really quick:
DV VISA FEE - (the red stamp one) Did not ask for my I-20'S... dO U CURRENTLY WORK ? - no ! Did not ask for any taxes... went over my file...and checked quickly through the copies of my I-20's that were sent with the file...

Show me your diploma...I gave her the original...and from here started a very friendly conversation...in which she described her mom taking videos with a shaky hand at her graduation in iLLINOIS STATE...

Any way - my point is - folks - these are human beings (at least in AOS)...and if u are legal...and every thing looks okay...be polite ...and friendly (we joked about day light savings...etc...) and that put everything in ease...

In that point she went away to take copies of my OPT, drivers license, and passport...

Took my I-94...

AND when she came back went online...got (I guess) the number from the dept. of state...

printed out a letter...Smiled and said...congratulations...I am going to approve your case today...

This is the approval letter...
You should be receiving the card in about 3 weeks..if not...make an info pass....bla bla bla...

SHE DID NOT STAMP IT - I think its new regulations...
I thanked her...and jokingly invited her to my commencemnt ceremony...and she invited me to her younger brother graduation from High - School... I am serious

I got out...And I had sucha terrible head ache from stress...That all I wanted is to go home and relax ...I think i deserved it !
Good luck to all AOS'ers and CP'ers...

I really would like to thank once again : Wikas - I have known her for almost a year now... Fellow AOS'ers - Barbara, Diane, June, Tabu, GV, Andy, Doodle,May...and many others that come on this board occasionaly.

Doodle - I guess they dont give a S@#$%T ABOUT job offer...(specifically for me on an OPT) She didnt even ask for I-134 _ - Only asked who is the person under C/O (CARE OF..) - In this case - my brother.

I will still be here...giving tips and updates...and assiatnce to the best of my knowledge...

Hell..who knows...may be I ll go to law school...so I can start charging money ! All the best !
