2. week later sent $100 fee to DOS (Dept of State)

3. after 5 days got receipt stamped from DOS

4. next day sent to KCC DSP-122, infroming them i'll do AOS, i am in us on F1 (student visa)

5. last week of July got from KCC letter acknowledging my intention to pursue AOS

6. August 2004 did medical exam, had to submit vaccination record from my home country, this was not in english but she saw what shots i got, had to receive 2 more shots, and to do chest Xray, medical done in 4 days, got the sealed envelope and mine copy with supplemental vaccine record ($210 medical +$80 xrays))

7. got documents from home: birth certificate, police record, high school diploma, B.S. diploma everything in native language and certified translation by early August

8. filled out i-134 and had it notarized in bank mid September. i know this sounds strange but i went to uscis and asked them what do i need to submit to prove i am not going to be public charge and they gave me I-134, I told them what to check for q # 2 i believe, where it asks are you citizen, perm resident etc, they said nothing so i didn't answer that question, but got it notarized anyways, in my bank.

10. on 10/14/05 got receipt from uscis with A# and instructions to take fprints.

11. next day called and first available day for fprints November 24th

12. Took fprints on 11/24/05

13. checked status on line, uscis received results for fprints on December 1st around this time local uscis moves from Arlington to Fairfax

14. 7thDecember, contacted senator by email if he can help me get interview date

15. 12 January received in mail from senator letter and form to explain case better( what application filed, A# etc)

16. 19th January had appintment in uscis to ask what's going on with my case, officer told me after thorough look up my case is on their shelves back from missouri center shoud here from them in 30 to 90 days with interview letter.

17.02/11/05 received interview letter with another fingerprint appintment between 02/15- 02/19 and spelling error of my name on both interview letter and fprints appointment. On the interview letter says bring passport, I94, medical, employment letter, tax returns for 3 most recent years

18. 02/15/05 Did 2nd fprints, told them about the error in name they said they corrected it, i was so freaked about it i didn't tell them i already di fprints in november, so they did them again

19. 03/01/05 had the interview, again told the officer about the name error, she said it happend to her 3rd time this morning. To the interview brought with me all original documents and photocopies of each they listed on the interview letter + updated letter from the bank

on the interview she basically asked me all infos from i-485, name , birthday, ss#, address, phone#, my parents names., have I been convicted etc all questions from I-485 believe it's 3rd page. Asked for copy of $100 fee paid to dept of state, i didn't have a copy so she had to go and make it, asked me for letter from employer, taxes both federal and state for 2004, 2003 and 2002, i prepared them with W-2s, copy of passport and visa(f1) and looked thru my file. At the end she said there is visa # available but FBI need to clear name check, she mentioned my name, my birthcity name and country name(country name changed) need to be checked and gave me paper with explanation why case hasn't been approved yet , FBI G-325( biographic info) check and to call her in 1 month.

20. needless to say i was so dissapointed I almost fainted and cried my eyes out.

21. Got letter from senator where he informed me that he made an inquiry on my behalf and he understood that i already had an interview hopefully it's resolved etc...

22. 03/12/05 received from interviewing officer letter asking for ORIGINAL NOTIFICATION LETTER from KCC, sent it next buisness day

23. during long waiting and exhausting days scheduled for 03/25/05 appoinment to uscis, hoping to get some real news, e mailed FBI but never received any reply

23. 03/23/05 checked the status of my case, it's been approved the same day

24. 03/25/05 went to uscis with appointment notice and all the documents i had when went to interview, showed him receipt with A# and he checked on computer, I did not have approval letter yet, but i thought online case status is enough, and i am not really patient person. When he checked on computer he stamped my passport and congratulated.

25. i am perm resident

N. B. All correspondence i mailed with registered mail with delivery notification (can be tracked online), did not have a lawyer, this board's help was TREMENDOUS, and I can not express how GRATEFUL i am to all the people who posted their experiences, dillemas, and advices.

Hopefully my experience will help many other people who are awaiting their cases to be resolved. My take home message here was patience.

I wish you all the best of luck.

Sincerely Yours,
