Thumbs up DV Interview In Feb 2005 South Africa

Hi all,

I thought I would share my story. My brother and I decided to write into the lottery as we had nothing to loose. After about May I thought that was it I did not win and life went on.
The end of June I got my first letter which I first thought was a scam, I have never won anything in my life and if I did it turned out to be just a scam to make money out of me. When I found out that it was real I sent my papers away straight away. I thought that I had a certain time frame to send the documents back otherwise loose my chance. Come December I found out about numbers being current and all that. Myne became current in the beginning of the year 2005 but my notification letter just would not arrive.
I wrote to the KCC by e-mail and they notified me when my interview would be.
A week before my interview date I still have not received my invitation so I phoned up the Consulate and spoke to some very rude and scary people. In the end just before I burst into tears from frustration I asked them if a friend of mine could collect the letter from the consulate so I can see who the doctors are I can go to. My friend went to pick up the letter and I noticed that there were a few documents I was not aware of. To make a long story short (or shorter) I got everything together in one week. I went for the interview waiting for all the trick questions and all they did was take my papers and left me sitting there for 2 hours bored out of my mind. A nice American lady called me to the window and made me swear that everything was true that I gave them which I did and then she asked me what my if I was a post graduate. She then told me that they normally print the visas in the afternoon but she would try and do it sooner. At this point I was a bit confused since I did not think it would be this easy. Well I got my visa about an hour after that. By the way, I only got my second letter about the 23 of March 2005. So much for South African Postal service. On the envelope it said 1st priority?

Good luck
