Thumbs up Consular processing experience Sri Lanka DV 2005

Thanks from Sri Lanka

It's not much hard to pass the interview in Sri Lanka(we had only SL experience), there's nothing.

If you have prepared necessary docs that's enough. They thoroughly look at the SPONSOR Letter as I noticed somebody says the Sponsor should be permanent resident of USA but ours is a valid H1B Visa holder(one of our relatives) and she gave us a simple sponsor letter not the form I-134 (but I think this differs from country to country).

The officers in the USA embassy are very kind and helpful. The consular officer didn't ask any queations except "Do you know the state you are going to?". But they take much time(about 16 days) to clear the reports we have to be patient(that's the hardest time).

As I understood it's easy to pass the interview in Sri Lanka if you are a loyal.

We received our first NL on 15/07/2004 and sent them back on 14/08/2004.
Until end of July 2005 we had no answer but we confirmed the interview date thro a mail. we received our 2nd letter on 14/08/2005.

Before that(on 13/08/2005) USA embassy asked us to come and collect the medical forms.

So we prepared as much as possible for the interview held on 13/09/2005 (our 3rd wedding anniversary day).

After collecting the documents, we were asked to pay $755 per each and the consular officer asked us to return on 29/09/2005 and very much happy to see our VISA stamped lovely in the passports.
All Sri Lankan DV winners I'm sure you all can go through this process very easily.
