The purpose of this message is to outline chronologically my experience in getting an Adjustment of Status (AOS) based on my being selected for 2005 Diversity Visa. Please use this information as an FYI, and please do not use this as the sole basis of your decision making.

- My number is 2005AS108xx, foreign chargeability of IDSA.
- Am residing in Phoenix, AZ, on my 6th year under a non-immigrant worker (H-1B) visa that will expire in 9/30/05. I have been in the U.S. since 1996.
- Have submitted paperwork for employment-based green card in May 2004, but am still waiting for Labor Certification approval from Dept. of Labor.
- Have submitted paperwork for one-year H-1B1 extension in August 2005.
- Hold two advanced-degree diplomas from two U.S. univs.
- Was subject to post-9/11 finger-print requirements a.ka. Special Registration Procedures in March 2003.

22 days from Notice of Action to Interview appointment
10 days from receipt of AOS package to Notice of Action
14 days from number becoming current to preparing and sending AOS package
358 days of waiting for my number to become current
42 days to receive confirmation of my intent to pursue AOS 2 days to prepare and send out my DV paperwork |
